International IPA Day is on Thursday, August 1st, but we’re getting started early for Newark CAMRA‘s IPA Trail, which runs from 26th July to August 4th. Just pick up a collector’s card in any participating pub, purchase any qualifying IPA to get a sticker. Complete the card and hand it in to be in with a chance of winning beery prizes!

Just Beer is celebrating in style this year with some beers seen (We think) for the first time in Newark. Here’s the lineup:

Mission Creep – Collateral Damage 5.5%
A big bruiser of a Black IPA, full of German de-husked malt and lots of fruity Simcoe and Ekuanot dry hops for a big fruity character. Toasty, fruity and everything a BIPA should be.

Team Toxic – Froot Brut 6.5%
60kg of cherry and raspberry puree, added to a bone-dry Nelson and Blanc dry-hopped Brut with predictably lovely results; the interplay between the fruit and hops works brilliantly. It’s very dry!

Dark Revolution – Dog Daze 5.9%
Huge citrus and tropical fruit from the Mosaic, Citra, and Simcoe hops blend with a softer, fluffier mouthfeel and bitterness delivering a go to beer for fans of juicy, hazy, IPAs.

Abbeydale/Peddler – Huckster Cryo 6.0%
No IPA Trail would be complete without this classic style being showcased – New England IPA. This juice-bomb is hopped up with Vic Secret, Eureka, Sorachi Ace, Ekuanot and Galaxy, including cryo-hops! Plus oats in the grist for a luxurious smooth mouthfeel.

St. Mars of the Desert – Koel-It 6.4%
Another NEIPA, soft and juicy, with notes of lemon, tangerine, orange rind, mild bitterness. Light to medium bodied with delicate, massaging carbonation and a balanced finish.

Buxton/Dugges – Ramberget 7.2%
This is a big, fruity, pithy IPA from the start, fruity with a background sweetness. Some resinous notes, tangy then a smoother pineapple note to finish.

We hope you can join us for the trail and look forward to trying these awesome beers throughout the week.
